Jennifer Lawrence, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ariana Grande, Meryl Streep, Jonah Hill… At this point, you can probably guess that all these actors were in the recent Netflix original, “Don’t Look Up” – a political “satire” directed by Adam McKay.
In the movie, humanity is faced
with a dire threat: an extinction-grade meteor headed straight
toward earth. Two scientists try to ring the alarm bell, but when
they bring the news to the media, politicians, and the public,
nobody takes them seriously. Meant to be a parody of the pandemic
response and climate change, the movie comes off as more of a rant.
It was entertaining and funny at moments, but the commentary didn’t
really add up. Sean, Paul, and Jen discuss why on this week’s
episode of Out of Frame: Behind the Scenes.
