It’s no secret that America’s “War on Drugs” has put a lot of non-violent people behind bars, ballooning the prison population and disenfranchising communities across the country. In this movie based on a true story, Rick Wershe is a 15-year-old boy who gets wrapped up in drug dealing when the US government uses him to purchase cocaine for them. Soon enough, his exploits land him with a lofty prison sentence, longer than murderers and violent offenders.
Join Sean, Paul, and Jen as they discuss this movie and how it relates to America’s criminal justice system in this eye-opening episode of Out of Frame: Behind the Scenes.
